  • About Department
  • The Department of English & Humanities emerged as a separate entity on 16th July 2009. It handles English language and English lab for the first year students and Soft skills lab for third year students. The department also offers Management and Accountancy subjects to final year students.

    At present the department is coordinated by Dr.A.Satya Phani Kumari,Associate Professor who has around 27 years of Teaching experience and completed a UGC – SERO Minor Research Project wort 1,90,000/-. The department has a team of 12 faculty members which constitutes; 08-PHD’s, ( of which 02-APSET-05 M.Phil) and 2- PHD’s pursuing and 02-MA,M.Sc., B.ED’s

    LABS:

    The department has three well-equipped and spacious labs:

    Language lab, Communication Skills lab and Soft skills Lab. The Lab is equipped with licensed software and Modules to impart training to the students which is partly responsible for the impressive and consistent campus recruitment track record. The department has been successful in achieving consistent results since its inception

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

    The department has organised a one day National Seminar and Brought out a Conference Book with ISSN no. The department faculty holds membership in various national academic bodies like ELTAI, IACLAL, ISTE, WELTAI, RIF and British Council of India. The Department has undertaken the task of registering students for Oxford Achievers Certification Course The Faculty members attend workshops and training courses to update their skills and knowledge of the latest methodologies of language teaching. The department has so far published a number of quality research papers in national and international journals recognized by UGC and presented papers at national and international level seminars. The department library has a good collection of books purchased from the department budget and UGC project, procured from donors and contributed by the faculty.

    The department has established La Literati, The Language Club of ANITS, under which various competitions are conducted and certificates and awards are distributed to students. The Language Club aims at providing an apt platform for all the students to improve their language skills through various regular activities.

    The department also brings out the annual college magazine ECHOES and the ANITS Quarterly Newsletter.
