Special Duties

The city police have decided to have a woman nodal officer (contact person) in all degree colleges, including engineering colleges, in the city to be on the lookout for mischief mongers and help victims confide in the woman coordinator. In this regard Prof.Rupa Vemuri, HOD, Dept. of English and Humanities has been appointed as Nodal Officer for ANITS on 8th March,2013 (International Women’s Day) by Police Commissioner Mr.B. Shivadhar Reddy, Visakhapatnam. As per the duties, The Nodal Officer will investigate into the matter and initiate appropriate remedial measures. This will give the girl students confidence to report against eve-teasers, be they their classmates, seniors.

Girl students can now breathe easy as they can now fall back on the nodal officer and confide in her.
