Sensitization programme on “Sexual Harassment on women at workplace”
Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences (ANITS) organized a Sensitization programme on “Sexual Harassment on women at workplace” on November 24th 2016 exclusively for its women faculty members. Prof. V. Rupa, Dept. of English & Humanities and the Nodal Officer for ANITS was the resource person of this event who addressed the elements like the guaranteed articles 14, 15 & 21 of Indian Constitution, UN Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), Indian laws on Sexual Harassment, genesis of the whole issue and other significant components involved on this subject. The event started with an inaugural speech by the Principal of ANITS Prof. T.V Hanumantha Rao who conveyed that the very idea of organizing this event is to build consciousness about the laws which help women employees feel safer in ANITS and sustain positive work surroundings. The resource person of the seminar used real-life examples of harassment cases and suggested where to go for aid and how to cope with sexual harassment issues. The importance of having an Internal Complaint Committee to resolve the problem of sexual harassment at workplace was discussed. The seminar was well received by all the member participants and the queries at the end of the session were cleared by the Nodal Officer.
Story Writing Competition was conducted on 17-09-2016 by LA LITERATI, the language club of the Department English & Humanities, ANITS on the occasion of ‘ENGINEERS’ DAY’. 64 students have actively participated in the competition on the story line: Defeat, this six letter word was not new to me. I rose from rags to the position of chief minister. But my fate laughed at me. I may not see the next morning.

A Five day workshop on English Language and Communication Skills conducted for the Administrative staff and Lab Technicians to improve their Communication Skills and English language skills from 7th -12th June, 2012. About 20 staff members participated in the workshop.
A Five day workshop on Basic English Language Skills conducted for the Non-technical supporting staff to improve their Basic English language skills from 7th -12th June, 2012. About 13 staff members participated in the workshop.
Ms .Rupa Vemuri , Associate Professor &H.O.D and Ms.V.Padmaja Udaya Purnima, Assistant Professor of department of English attended a three day workshop which was conducted my Infosys as a part of Campus Connect programme in Hyderabad from 9th -11th February, 2010.

The Department of English and Humanities is in charge of conducting various essay, elocution, and extempore competitions for the students. The Department of English and Humanities is also responsible for bringing out the quarterly College Newsletter and the College Magazine.
The E-Plus Club was inaugurated on 20th October, 2009 by Dr. V.S.R.K. Prasad, Principal, ANITS. Mr. Seshu Babu, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Humanities, is in charge of the E-Plus Club
80 Hours of intensive and advanced Soft Skills Training was given to the Final Year Students (2008-12) under Campus Connect Programme promoted by Infosys. Around 300 Students successfully completed the program
Mock interviews were conducted for pre-final students on 24th & 25th March, 2012, as a part of Advanced Communication Skills Training programme. The services of the Professionals from ‘The Launch Pad’, Campus Recruitment Trainers, were utilized for the purpose. The panels interviewed 256 students and gave them feedback.
